Typhoon "Bebinca" is approaching aggressively

Typhoon is a strong tropical cyclone, whose extreme weather phenomena pose a serious threat to human society and the natural environment. For example, it can cause storm surges and seawater intrusion, cause heavy rain and floods, disrupt transportation, damage ecosystems, destroy economic infrastructure, cause economic losses, and affect social order and stability.

With the arrival of the typhoon season, factories in coastal areas are facing a severe test. The fierce winds and heavy rains brought by typhoons not only threaten the safety of personnel but also cause great damage to factory equipment. In particular, key equipment such as air compressors, if damaged, will severely affect production progress and economic benefits.

According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, Typhoon "Bebinca," the 13th typhoon of this year, is heading straight for the East China coastal area with a fierce momentum! Its intensity is continuously strengthening, and it is expected to make landfall along the coast of Zhejiang to northern Fujian between the early morning and morning on September 16th! Deman kindly reminds everyone to prepare for wind and rain protection for air compressors:

Pay attention to whether there is any rainwater leakage or water leakage in the air compressor room.

Many factories have separate air compressor rooms and air consumption workshops, and the structures are relatively simple. To ensure smooth airflow in the air compressor room, most of them are not sealed. This can easily lead to phenomena such as water leakage and rain leakage, which can affect the normal operation of the air compressor and even cause it to stop working.

Response Measures

Before the heavy rain comes, check the doors and windows of the air compressor room and assess the points of rain leakage. Take waterproof measures around the air compressor room, and staff should strengthen their patrol work, paying special attention to the power supply of the air compressors.

Pay attention to the drainage issues around the air compressor room.

Affected by heavy rainfall and urban flooding, factories in low-lying areas are prone to water immersion accidents if not handled properly.

Response Measures

Investigate the geological structure, flood prevention facilities, lightning protection facilities, and other conditions of the surrounding area of the factory, identify safety hazards and weaknesses, and take precautions to prevent waterproofing, drainage, and waterlogging.

Pay attention to the water content at the air end

With continuous rainfall, the humidity of the air increases. If the post-treatment of the air compressor is not effective, the moisture content in the compressed air will increase, which can affect the quality of the air. Therefore, we must ensure that the interior of the air compressor room is dry.

Response Measures

• Check the drainage valves to ensure smooth drainage and that moisture can be expelled in a timely manner.

• Install a refrigerated air dryer: The purpose of a refrigerated air dryer is to remove moisture from the air. Install a refrigerated air dryer and check its operational status to ensure the equipment is in optimal operating condition.

Pay attention to the reinforcement of the equipment

If the base of the air tank is not reinforced, it may be blown down by strong winds, affecting the production of air and causing economic losses.

Response Measures

Carry out reinforcement work for equipment such as air compressors and air tanks, and strengthen patrols.

If you find that the air compressor has been water-damaged, do not power it on or start it up. Please contact the local Deman service provider immediately.

After the typhoon, it is essential to immediately inspect and repair the air compressor to restore production as quickly as possible. At the same time, based on the damage caused by the typhoon, communicate with the insurance company in a timely manner to proceed with the claim.

In summary, the hazards of the typhoons to air compressors should not be overlooked. Companies should be prepared in advance, take effective measures to ensure the safety of the equipment, and reduce losses.
