Xiangshui Lianyi Thermal Power Co., Ltd.

Case Study – Xiangshui Lianyi Thermal Power Co., Ltd.

Founded in 2010, Xiangshui Lianyi Thermal Power Co., Ltd. is located in Xiangshui County, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. The company specializes in combined heat and power (CHP) generation, as well as the supply of steam and hot water, and the sales of coal ash and slag.

The project includes two 130T/h high-temperature, high-pressure boilers, with a centralized compressed air system supporting two 300,000-ton coated whiteboard paper machines.

Committed to environmental protection, the company was recognized as a “Green Development Leading Enterprise” in Jiangsu Province in 2022 and was listed as a provincial-level water-saving enterprise in 2023 — a mission well aligned with Deman’s dedication to energy efficiency and sustainability.

Compressed air systems used in the thermal power industry (including thermal power plants and CHP plants) are subject to strict requirements due to the industry's unique operational conditions. Key demands include high safety, continuous operation, clean air quality, and system reliability.

The main requirements are as follows:

1. Air Quality Requirements

Oil-free or low oil content

Dry air with low dew point

Clean and particle-free

2. Stable Air Supply

Uninterrupted supply

Stable pressure

3. System Reliability and Maintainability

Equipment often operates in high-temperature, high-humidity, dusty, or corrosive conditions, requiring high protection levels and robust design.

Most thermal power plants run 7×24. Compressed air systems must support automated operation, remote monitoring, and self-diagnosis.
(Note: The company’s equipment operates over 8,300 hours per year.)

The system should be easy to maintain, with readily available spare parts, to avoid any disruption to the core operations.

With extensive experience and a deep understanding of the compressed air demands in the thermal power industry, Deman provided a tailored “three-precision air supply” solution that brought significant air system benefits to the plant.

Different compressors and refrigerated dryers were configured for each air consumption zone, based on specific requirements, ensuring efficient and reliable operation across the entire system.

Zone A: Boiler Area (Low Air Quality Requirement)

·Maximum Air Demand: 65 m³/min

·Compressor Model: DDV135T-5

·Refrigerated Air Dryer: CFKA-175

Air quality requirements are relatively low, mainly for general utility use.

Zone B: Paper Production Area (High Air Quality Requirement)

·Maximum Air Demand: 90 m³/min

·Compressor Model: DDV185e/7

·Dryers: 5DV40.8A Refrigerated Air Dryer + HD-90 Desiccant Dryer

The 5DV series dryer features a low dew point and excellent water removal performance, ensuring high air purity for the paper production process.

Zone C: Instrumentation and Monitoring Area (High Air Quality Requirement)

·Maximum Air Demand: 1 m³/min

·Compressor Model: CV7/7

·Dryer: CGDY/3 Desiccant Dryer

High-quality, stable air is critical for instrument accuracy and long-term reliability.

Through Deman’s “three-precision air supply” solution, each zone achieved precisely engineered pressure settings, tailored air quality design, and full compliance with their specific air usage requirements.

After Installation of Deman System:

 Accurate air pressure

 Accurate air flow

 Accurate air quality

Enhance product quality and production efficiency

Reduce operating costs and strengthening market competitiveness
